Posted by: admin | Posted on: March 27, 2020Following the instructions given by the Ministry of Education, Chung Hwa Middle School, Bandar Seri Begawan would like to implement online teaching starting from 30 March 2020, Monday.
Due to the changing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, the school has taken necessary actions to safeguard students’ health and safety, and to ensure that they can attend lessons while they stay at home. The teaching staff will make use of various online platforms to carry out teaching and learning activities, including email, WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams and other online applications.
The school has been certified as Microsoft Showcase School for seven years consecutively. Therefore, the school is well-equipped with up-to-date educational tools for teachers to conduct their lessons online during the second school term.
With the implementation of online teaching, not only does it ensure students’ safety, but it also means that their learning opportunities will not be compromised. In the following weeks, the school will continue to provide the latest updates on online teaching.
Below is a summary of the online teaching methods adopted by the school.
Kindergarten and Primary students will be using ClassDojo to access their learning materials. ClassDojo is a user-friendly educational technology communication application and website. Teachers will create classes on ClassDojo so that students and parents can share their views with teachers.
Secondary students will continue to use Microsoft Teams as their online learning tool. At the beginning of the year, all secondary teachers have started giving assignments, conducting online lessons and uploading educational videos via Microsoft Teams. Teachers will monitor students’ participation and progress regularly and provide timely feedback.
Meanwhile, the school will set up an information counter near the main entrance of the school, attending to parents’ enquiries and providing contactless “Drive-Thru” service.
Monday to Thursday & Saturday : 8:00am ~ 3:00pm
Friday : 9:00am ~ 11:00am

CHMS, BSB gears up with Remote Learning
Posted by: admin | Posted on: March 27, 2020Chung Hwa Middle School, BSB has strategized its remote learning plans in the wake of the Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam decision to begin Term II classes on 30th March 2020. CHMS, BSB being a pioneer in harnessing ICT integrated teaching and learning has planned to adopt remote learning sessions enabled by various learning tools. Being a Microsoft Showcase School, the schools is well equipped to conduct safer virtual classroom through Microsoft Teams, Skype followed by other related activities.

Posted by: admin | Posted on: March 25, 2020VIA Kementerian Pendidikan, Berakas / 30 Rejab 1441 bersamaan 25 Mac 2020 – Berikutan dengan penularan jangkitan COVID-19, keutamaan Kementerian Pendidikan adalah untuk memastikan kesihatan dan kesejahteraan pelajar-pelajar serta guru-guru dan orang awam amnya.
Oleh yang demikian, dimaklumkan bahawa pihak Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) telah mengambil keputusan untuk tidak mengendalikan semua peperiksaan antarabangsa bagi sesi Mei/Jun 2020. Bagi Negara Brunei Darussalam, peperiksaan-peperiksaan yang tidak akan dikendalikan adalah Brunei Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), Brunei Cambridge General Certificate of Education (BC GCE) ‘O’, ‘AS’ dan ‘A’ Level yang mana telah dijadualkan akan bermula pada bulan April sehingga bulan Jun 2020.
Sehubungan dengan ini, Kementerian Pendidikan sedang bekerjasama dengan pihak CAIE untuk memastikan kesinambungan pembelajaran pelajar-pelajar tidak akan terjejas dengan mewujudkan satu penilaian alternatif. Kementerian Pendidikan akan memaklumkan mengenai langkah-langkah dan tindakan-tindakan seterusnya apabila perkara ini selesai dibincangkan bersama dengan pihak CAIE.

Pembelajaran Dan Pengajaran Secara Dalam Talian (Online) Penggal Persekolahan Ke-Dua
Posted by: admin | Posted on: March 25, 2020VIA Kementerian Pendidikan, Berakas / 30 Rejab 1441 bersamaan 25 Mac 2020 – Kementerian Pendidikan dengan nasihat Kementerian Kesihatan ingin memaklumkan bahawa sesi pengajaran dan pembelajaran bagi semua sekolah rendah, menengah, pusat-pusat tingkatan enam, sekolah- sekolah vokasional dan Institut Pendidikan Teknikal Brunei (IBTE) di bawah kawalan Kementerian Pendidikan dan juga termasuk sekolah-sekolah di bawah kawalan Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ugama, sekolah-sekolah swasta akan bermula pada hari Isnin, 05 Syaaban 1441 bersamaan 30 Mac 2020 SECARA DALAM TALIAN (ONLINE). Bagi sekolah-sekolah antarabangsa, pengajaran dan pembelajaran juga SECARA DALAM TALIAN (ONLINE) akan bermula pada tarikh yang telah ditetapkan oleh institusi masing-masing.
Bagi memastikan kesihatan dan keselamatan pelajar-pelajar adalah terjaga serta terhindar daripada sebarang kemungkinan jangkitan, pelajar-pelajar akan dikehendaki untuk TERUS BERADA DI RUMAH dan mengikuti pembelajaran secara dalam talian melalui pelbagai landasan mengikut kapasiti sekolah masing-masing sama ada melalui Emel, Google Docs, WhatsApp, Video Conference, Microsoft Teams dan platform media sosial atau sebarang aplikasi telekomunikasi yang bersesuaian. Selain itu, pihak sekolah juga akan memberikan home-pack learning bagi pelajar-pelajar yang tidak mempunyai akses kepada internet. Pendidikan melalui rancangan TV juga akan dilaksanakan sebagai sokongan tambahan pengajaran dan pembelajaran melalui media massa.
Untuk makluman, pihak sekolah juga telah mengaktifkan Business Continuity Plan (BCP) masing- masing bagi menjaga kesejahteraan guru-guru dan warga sekolah dengan memberikan kelonggaran bagi warga sekolah yang termasuk dalam kategori vulnerable sepertimana yang telah dinyatakan oleh Kementerian Kesihatan termasuk mereka yang sedang mengandung, untuk bertugas dari rumah kediaman masing-masing (Work From Home, WFH). Pelaksanaan kaedah WFH juga diselaraskan dengan kaedah flexible working arrangements bagi semua warga perkhidmatan awam seperti yang dinyatakan di dalam Surat Keliling Jabatan Perdana Menteri bilangan 06/2020.

CHMS Table Tennis Inter-Class Competition

Notice: 57th Graduation Ceremony (K3)

Please be informed that the Kindergarten, CHMS “Let Your Dreams Take Flight”, 57th Graduation Ceremony will be held on Friday, 8th November 2019. In view of this, on these four days. i.e: 04/11, 05/11, 06/11 & 07/11, K 3 students will be having their rehearsals. The K 3 morning and afternoon classes will be combined for these rehearsal days. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Note:
1. On 04/11, 05/11, 06/11 & 07/11, all the K 3 students must come to school in the morning by 7:20 am and dismissal time is at 11:45 am. (Afternoon Session classes will be cancelled from 04.11.2019 to 07.11.2019)
2. The Kindergarten, CHMS 57th Graduation Ceremony will be held on Friday, 8th November 2019. Arrival time: 7:20 am.
3. Lesson ceased on Saturday, 09.11.2019 due to Public Holiday.
4. Classes will resume on Monday, 11.11.2019 to Wednesday, 20.11.2019.
5. K 3 classes will be cancelled from Thursday, 21.11.2019 to Saturday, 30.11.2019.
6. The 3rd Term school holiday will start from Monday, 02.12.2019 to Tuesday, 31.12.2019.
7. The new school term for Year 2020 will start on Thursday, 02.01.2020.
On 04.11.2019 to 08.11.2019, K 3 students will assemble at the respective classrooms according to the schedule below:
